HOW WE’RE REDUCINGOUR FASHION FOOTPRINT
In 2019, we made a promise to reduce water usage in denim production & source materials with sustainable fibers (& we kept it).
We’re using less water in denim production.
So far, we’ve reduced the amount of water we use across our total denim production by 30% (we're talking over 87,500,000
gallons of water saved).
We’re using more sustainably sourced materials.
Landfills are trashy. That’s why we’re working to keep polyester out of them. By 2025, we strive to source 25% recycled
polyester. (We already use it to fill our puffers & parkas.)

We’re bettering cotton farming practices globally.
Better Cotton’s mission is to help cotton communities survive & thrive, while protecting & restoring the environment.
We’re committed to sourcing 25% of our cotton as Better Cotton by 2025.*
*Better Cotton is sourced via a system of mass balance & is not physically traceable to end products.
We’re using responsibly sourced materials.
DONE:
Since 2020, we’ve used 100% Responsible Down in all your favorite jackets & coats, a goal we accomplished 5 years early.
ONE DOWN, TWO TO GO:
We’re still working on it, but by 2025 we plan to only use 100% Responsible Wool & source 50% of our viscose (MMCF) as
innovative viscose through diligent supply chain tracking.
Cleaning out your closet?
Send what doesn’t make the “keep pile” to our friends at thredUP. It’ll keep clothes from piling up in landfills & earn you a Hollister shopping credit.
*Recycling may not be available in your area. Check with your local recycling provider for more information.
SUSTAINABILITY ATOUR HOME OFFICE
Our associates are freakishly passionate about the planet.
You won’t find trash cans overflowing with single-use plastic straws in our cafeteria, but you will find a ton of
freshly planted trees, meeting technology that heavily reduces paper use & empty rooms with the lights turned off. Have
we mentioned we’re recycling machines? We strive to make sure cardboard, e-waste, fabric & denim scraps go in that blue
bin.
